Welcome, My Love, To Peace

A little tribute drawing for my favorite character from my comics, Mohatu. Here he is seen in the afterlife, presumably heaven, with his original mate, Jaha. For those of you who have not read Mohatu's Reign, which can be found in my gallery, Jaha died in cub birth with Uru and that's why she has not appeared in any of the comics since.

Of course, I did not create Mohatu as a semi canon character. He belongs to Disney. But I fell in love with my version of him. I always enjoyed writing his script, and drawing him. I wanted him to embody both Simba and Mufasa. He was a strong roll model to Taka in my comic, a great father to Uru, and a mentor to everyone else in his life.

He was a great character. One of my favorites. I will miss drawing him.

RIP Mohatu. One of the best Semi canon characters ever
