I was bored, so I decided to make a stamp. Might make more... So bored...
Anyway. I haven't had this happen for a while. But people have used my work, aka stolen my work or traced over it. And when I confront it they say "I just found it on google/yahoo"
Guys, just because you can find it in google or yahoo image search, it doesn't mean its in the public domain. Public domain or stock images are images that free to use. Just because it shows up in a search engine, it doesn't mean its public domain.
If you find an image on google or yahoo or other search engines, check the website its coming from. Make sure you can use it before you do. Because most of the time its not a free image.
It is because most people don't realize nor even give a care about copyrights because they don't see a need to have any unless you are a rich maga corporation who loves suing people left and right for infringement just so you can get that last penny out of someones pocket.
Most people think that if you claim to have a copyright on something, especially on my end of the net, that you are a spoiled brat with fame and fortune who needs to actually get a "real" job or and I quote from one of my other pro piracy friends: "GET ON THE TRAIN!" and "Take a delousing shower."
Yes there are still people like that who say these things unfortunately.
*nod* I've encountered this before too, though I've never been on the receiving end. Google Images is not a stock-image search engine, and too many people don't seem to understand that at all.
