Common Comic Questions

Description

Just a few questions I get frequently. Feel free to ask more in the comments and I'll add them to this description if I deem them appropriate or I can answer them without spoiling the story.

Q: Will There Be More Comics?
A: Yes, if you have only come into reading my comics during The East Land Chronicles, there are 2 comics that come before it(Mohatu's Reign and Uru's Reign Part 1) so there will be more comics to come. Uru's Reign Part 2 will be coming soon.

Q: When's the next comic coming?
A: I'm using a few days to work on some new backgrounds, but the script is fully written. So after some prep work, I'll probably be starting the comic this weekend or some time next week. I also want to get some commissions done. So be patient, but it'll come.

Q: Why did you kill off _____ ?
A: Because when I loose the need of a character, or I feel their death will somehow aid the plot I will kill them off. My comics are based around the TLK movies. So I somehow need to make all the characters I have WORK with the TLK movies. Lionesses I think I can pass off as background lionesses in the movies will stick around, and so on, and certain things happen to certain characters in the canon world. But if I have a character like Mfuasi for example, he's not in the movies so he had to go. I killed off Naanda because I think her death will greatly influence Zira's personality. So yeah, it's plot based or need based.

Q: Where is Moyo?
A: I thought it was assumed that he was with the lionesses fleeing the East Lands.

Q: Will we learn how Taka gets his scar in this next comic?
A: Yes.

Q: Will ____ die?
A: Not telling.

Q: Why is your comic so sad/dark?
A: Because when you look at both TLK movies they have dark roots. Evil brother kills his brother to take over the thrown. Crazy lioness wants to kill Simba. Somehow, those characters became evil, and I want to explore that. And stories that are all rainbows and sunshine are boring.

Q: Is Mnyama chasing them to the Pride Lands?
A: No, but he will show up later on. Not telling when though.

Q: Will There Be a East Land Chronicles cover contest?
A: See my latest journal. Yes :)

Q: Where will Uru's Reign Part 2 start off?
A: At the return of the East Lander lionesses.

Q: Why was East Land Chronicles so short?
A: Because it was really just a small story. I needed to introduce some males into the mix to explain the semi canon cubs, and I also wanted to start a bit of Zira's story.

Q: How far will you continue your comics?
A: Probably until the exile of the Outlanders. The rest is explained by TLK2. I might explore some background stories, like Mohatu's cub-hood, or how Mfuasi, Moyo, and Mnyama all ended up with Kuendesha. But I don't know if I'll do a Kiara's Reign comic with her and Kovu's cubs... I'm not that interested, but we'll see

Q: Can I make fan art of the comic?
A: Sure! I love seeing fan art of the comic! Just please don't use bases or anything. I'm not a fan and don't want to see my OC's or designs for semi canon characters put into base form.

Q: Can I write fan fiction based off your story?
A: Ask me first... Because it honestly depends on the story. I'm a bit iffy on this one because I don't want to see my plot misrepresented but I'm also flattered. So please, just ask. And if I say no, please respect that and back off.

I love that you're not afraid to kill off characters. In fact, such boldness with character death seems to be the powerhouse behind many modern drama/action hits such as Game of Thrones, or The Walking Dead.

But consider this, "Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'It might have been!'" I think there are far more tragic endings than death. Death is final. Never knowing can harrow a character the rest of their lives.
